With more than 18 years of experience, Professor Abejide Ade-Ibijola works at the intersection of artificial intelligence, research, executive education and innovation. His career has crossed universities, businesses, government and technology ventures.
He earned his PhD in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2016. He previously earned a First Class Honours degree in Computer Science and a master’s degree with a distinction in research.
He served as a Professor of AI and Applications at the University of Johannesburg until May 2026. His record also includes a distinguished professorial appointment at Woxsen University, India, and the founding of GRIT Lab Africa and Machines With Minds.
